Tanglefoot is a folk band from Ontario, Canada. Formed in the early 1980s by schoolteachers Joe Grant, Bob Wagar, and Tim Rowat to play traditional music, they have become a five-piece band playing largely original music. They regularly tour Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

Tanglefoot's 2006/7 lineup is: Steve Ritchie (guitar/whistle), the band's longest-serving member, Al Parrish (double bass), Terry Young (multi-instrumentalist on guitar, mandolin, banjo, harmonica, and whistle), Brian Weirmier (piano and guitar) and newest member Sandra Swannell (fiddle and viola). All the members sing and all of them write songs for the band.

The group performs to packed live audiences across North America and the UK with tones of raw energy that makes it almost impossible to stay in your seat. Anyone who has seen this band live will agree, this is a band that makes you feel all tingly inside and you simply can not resist to sing along. With song topics all deriving from history, mostly Canadian, this band captivates listeners with great folk tales about moments such as the Frank Slide, The War of 1812 and Laura Secord, the tale of Sir John A Macdonald's wife Agnes Macdonald riding the cowcatcher across Canada.
